A meeting with Kendal Karstens

A meeting with Kendal Karstens, a recent university graduate from High Point University, North Carolina, USA, currently living and working in Baranovichi, as a Fullbright English Teaching Assistant at Baranovichi State University, Belarus, was held on 28 January in Gomel Universal Regional library department of literature in foreign languages.
Kendal Karstens made two presentations there. At first she told about her student life at High Point University of North Carolina and about education in the USA.
The second presentation, “Games to get your students talking in English “contained useful information for English teachers. Kendal says that our students should be fluent, confident and competent in their communication in English., so she shared some techniques helping to achieve this goal.
Teachers of the department of Slavic and Romano-Germanic languages attend such events with great interest, developing their arsenal of teaching methods. Students, on the other hand , gain advantage of live communication with native speakers , that allows them to remove the psychological barrier in foreign language speech activity.
