Belarusian Transport Week 2019. Round table “Training and professional development of transport complex workers”


The Ministry of Transport and Communications held a round table “Training and advanced training for workers in the transport complex” on October 3, 2019 in the Belarusian Transport Week. Representatives of institutions and organizations related to transport education have been waiting for this event for a year.

The round table had an important goal - the formation of promising trends in the system of training, retraining and advanced training of personnel of the Republic of Belarus for the implementation of the tasks of innovative development of the national transport and logistics system. The Minister instructed the Belarusian State University of Transport to organize this event.

The following topical issues were brought up for discussion at the Round Table: the specifics of ensuring and improving the quality of training for the transport complex in the medium and long term (by mode of transport and logistics); targets for the formation of personnel competencies for the country's transport and logistics system in the context of the innovative development in the Republic of Belarus economy; improving the system of retraining and advanced training of transport complex employees; aspects of the transport education development in the context of digitalization and intellectualization of transport technologies; quality assurance and export development in the field of transport education.

The round table was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Belarus, Belarusian State University of Transport, Belarusian State Academy of Aviation, Belarusian State University, Belarusian National Technical University, Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, Business Institute of the Belarusian State University, International University «MITSO», BelNIIT «Transtehnika», Intersectoral Institute for Enhancing qualifications and retraining of personnel for management and personnel development of BNTU, BAMAP-VEDA Centre for Advanced Training of Leading Workers and Specialists, STA-Logistic LLC, PE Arkitek Multima Unitary Enterprise, etc.

Yury Vladimirovich Dubina, Head of the Scientific and Technical Policy and Informatization Department of the Ministry of Transport, made a welcoming speech and noted that the transport and logistics system of the Republic of Belarus is much wider than the territorial borders of our country, therefore it is necessary to combine or borrow the experience of training and advanced training of transport workers industries of different countries are not always possible, therefore it is very important that today there is an opportunity to exchange advanced ideas to assess risks and develop optimal ways to increase the effectiveness of training.

The rector of our university, co-chair of the educational and methodical association of the Republic of Belarus on transport and transport activities, Yuri Ivanovich Kulazhenko and director of the Institute for Advanced Studies and Retraining of Heads and Specialists of the Transport Complex of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Zenkevich made presentations on the topic «Ways to improve the quality of training for transport specialists industry» and «Additional adult education for specialists of the Republic of Belarus transport complex».

During the work of the Round Table, 11 more speeches were heard on relevant topics determined by the purpose of the Belarusian Transport Week with its refraction into the field of education, training and continuous training of transport and logistics workers: the main trends and ways to improve the quality of specialist training for transport and Logistics; the using of SMART-technologies in education and their role in the implementation of the concept of "University 4.0"; issues of advanced training and retraining of specialists and managers of the transport and logistics sphere; aspects of the digitalization of the educational process and the implementation of distance education systems; integration of training in the production process; individual aspects, actualization and specifics of training specialists in the transport and logistics sector in areas of activity and various entities.

The work of the Round Table ended with a constructive discussion. During its work, aspects of the application of a particular technology in a specific area of education transport and logistics were vigorously discussed.

Undoubtedly, participation in this event by 28 representatives of our university, who were given the opportunity to listen to the views of their colleagues and express their opinions, will favourably affect the quality of the educational activities of BSUT and will allow us to constructively develop promising areas in the university's activities.
