BSUT delegation in the PRC

The current stage of development of domestic and foreign education is characterized by the influence of complex social world transformations, as well as integration processes in the economic, scientific, technical and other fields.

Pledged priorities in education determine the economic development of the country. Therefore, the desire for the greatest efficiency of the educational process is manifested in the diverse innovative activities of educational institutions in different countries. This feature is also characteristic of educational systems of Belarus and China, in which foreign teaching experience is demanded and interest in various areas, types and forms of pedagogical innovations and research activities is growing.

The delegation of BSUT, headed by the rector Yuri Kulazhenko, visited the Guangzhou Railway Polytechnic and the Guangdong Union of Scientific and Technical Cooperation with the CIS countries (Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, PRC).

During the work of the delegation the meetings of the BSUT’s rector Yuri Kulazhenko with the Secretary General of the Guangdong Scientific and Technical Cooperation Union with the CIS countries Mr. Guo Fengzhi and the rector of the Guangzhou Railway Polytechnic Mr. Ma Zhenting and Vice Rector Li Xiaoming were held.

The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the organization of the educational process, as well as discuss issues of future cooperation between educational institutions.

During the meeting, negotiations were held on joint training under the “3 + 2” scheme within the framework of the educational project, and issues of development, improvement of cooperation in the field of training specialists for railway transport and scientific cooperation between parties were discussed.

As part of the negotiations, the parties examined the possibilities of creating a joint Belarusian-Chinese scientific laboratory for certification of railway transport products and the first step towards the implementation of this initiative is the development of a draft agreement on this type of work.

The outcome of the discussion of the strategic development of partnerships was the signing of an updated agreement on cooperation in the field of higher education and science between BSUT and the Guangzhou Railway Polytechnic.

The contract provides for interaction in various areas. In particular, the document prescribes participation of college students in the Summer School of the Russian Language, the preparation of undergraduates, graduate students, doctoral students, internships, regulates issues of inviting BSUT teachers to give lectures and introduce practical training, exchange of educational and methodical work experience, curricula and programs , scientific, technical and educational literature. The parties also plan to conduct joint research, seminars and publish scientific, educational and teaching materials on the results of the collective work carried out.
