By 26.11, the day of the liberation of Gomel from the Nazi invaders, students of the GT-41 group, under the guidance of E. Y. Makutonina, senior lecturer at the Slavic and Romano-Germanic Languages chair have written an essay on the topic «Keeping the memory alive» in English.

The students emphasized how important it is not to forget the history of our people, our family, and to remember that it is our sacred duty not to let the memory fade. As one student wrote in her essay: «Keaping the memory-alive means to understand who we are and where we come from, it is an opportunity to prevent the repetition of past mistakes. Remembering the past allows us to appreciate what we have now, our roots, the achievements of our ancestors, and the valuable lessons of our history».
